How My Pricing Works
I want support to be accessible and also sustainable. Here’s how I structure pricing using locally‑adjusted rates and a values‑based sliding scale.
There are many systemic factors that affect how accessible my services are to different people in different circumstances and different locations. I believe every parent, caregiver and educator deserves support, regardless of their ability to pay. At the same time, I also need to run a sustainable business and make enough money to support myself and my family.
To find the balance between these two realities, I’ve structured my pricing to increase accessibility while ensuring sustainability. I offer a range of offerings at different price points, along with some free resources. Prices are shown in US dollars, but they automatically adjust based on your location using Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), so you pay a fair, locally‑adjusted rate for my offerings.
If paying the full amount upfront on any of my offerings is difficult, I’m always open to discussing a payment plan.
How the Sliding Scale Works
At the heart of a sliding scale is trust, respect, and accountability. I don’t ask for proof of finances—I trust that you will consider the value of my offerings and your financial situation, and choose accordingly. When there is trust and accountability, we all thrive.
Top Tier
The full price of my offerings—the true cost without a sliding scale and what I advertise publicly. If you can comfortably pay for wants and rarely worry about basic needs, this tier is for you.
Middle Tier
Acknowledges the full price could be a barrier for some, while remaining a fair contribution for those who don’t fully identify with the lower‑tier description.
Lower Tier
For those whose financial circumstances would make it impossible to access my offerings without a significant reduction (e.g., struggling to afford basic needs, living paycheck to paycheck, significant debt, or limited financial support).
My thinking around sliding‑scale pricing has been influenced by the work of Alexis J. Cunningfolk. They offer a helpful visual guide for determining where you might fall on the scale.
Example: Circle of Security Parenting Program
Top tier
US$300–US$350*
Middle tier
US$200–US$299
Lower tier
US$100–US$199
*If you fall into the top tier you also have the option of paying more than US$350 and contributing to more slots for those in the middle and lower tiers. Your donation and action towards economic justice is gratefully welcomed.
